Green Turtle Bay Marina KY

Green Turtle Bay Marina, Lake Barkley KY
Here at GreenTurtle, we have seen more looper boats here than anywhere since the rendevous at Beaufort. When we came in here last Tuesday we were greeted by several of them and since then more have come in.
Friday October 6. we went to the little town of Grand Rivers and saw a play, “Always Patsy” about the life of Patsy Cline. The actress who played Patsy had quite a voice; she could really belt out those songs.
On Saturday October 7, Amy and Ed arrived at about 5. She brought me a new wireless mouse for my laptop. Now I’m back in business!
On Sunday October 8 we took a cruise and crossed over to Kentucky Lake and anchored for the afternoon.
On Monday October 9, we decided to go to the visitor’s center at Kentucky Dam but forgot that today was Columbus Day so everything was closed. Ended up going into the small town of Grand Rivers and did some shopping. Went to Patti’s tonight for dinner. We enjoyed the visit with Amy and Ed and were glad they got a chance to spend some time with us on the boat. They left the morning of October 10. We decided to stay another few days since a cold front is due later this week (it is bringing snow to Michigan-ugh, sorry guys) and also to do some maintenance on the boat. Lots of the looper boats are leaving as they are headed to the rendezvous at Joe Wheeler Park in Alabama. We had gone to that rendezvous last year by car so we didn’t make reservations for it this year. Using the time through Saturday to do maintenance, cleaning, getting my hair cut, updating the web site, etc. We got the courtesy van and went into Paducah to a Kroger for some good produce and meat to tide us over for awhile. On Saturday October 13 we’re be leaving to head down Kentucky Lake to the Tennessee River to Pickwick Landing. We’re planning to meet up with Joan and Mary Lou from our Erie Canal flood experience. They are part of our EMS Yacht Club. They are driving down here from Canada to attend the rendezvous and get their certificate for completing the loop. We’re looking forward to their visit. Joan is particularly looking forward to seeing Linus "baby bird". She was his biggest fan at the EMS shelter.
